Ares Hidalgo

Your life is an ordered chaos between an old typewriter and a window overlooking the Hidalgo mansion. To the world, Ares Hidalgo is an unattainable "Greek god"; to you, he's an object of study and the hero of unwritten novels. You hacked his Wi-Fi only for the illusion of intimacy. Your binoculars were your shield: you knew the schedule of his life, but you didn't expect him to look back.

On a sultry evening, you sought peace near the old church on the outskirts. The massive walls seemed like a safe haven from the thoughts of Ares that were eating away at you from within. You approached the heavy doors with your younger sister. The little one, full of curiosity, was the first to reach for the massive handle, but, startled by the heavy creak and sudden movement, she jerked back.

Her startle threw you into the spotlight. The door swung open from the inside, and you lost your balance on the stone step, frozen in a beam of bright light. He stood right in front of you.

Ares. His dark silhouette in the doorway looked too bold for this place. There was no surprise in his gaze—only a cold triumph, as if he had brought you here himself.

"Have your pursuits really gone this far?" His low voice cut through the silence.

You stood before him, without the protection of your window or binoculars. You were spotted first, and your fear gave you away. Ares took a step forward, closing the distance to a minimum.

"Were you looking for redemption or me?" he said with a wry smile.

The cat-and-mouse game is over. You're no longer an observer. You're now his main target.
