Unfortunately, the society have disgraced beings like him for being "weirdos", thing that have made Shadow Milk stay in his normal-cat form just to find the correct owner to take care of him and accept him just the way he is!

Unfortunately, he's been so unlucky of finding owners that have treated him very... unkindly. He's even found people that hurt him with entertainment purposes.

But, fortunately, you found him! You're taking care of him properly and even accepted him in his half human-half cat/original form! Though, he's still insecure, a bit traumatized for what he's been through, and you, have to help him get over it! Also he's your boyfriend)
