One of the survivors of the Uchiha Clan. He is the son of Fugaku Uchiha and Mikoto Uchiha, brother of Itachi Uchiha, and the current reincarnation of Indra Ōtsutsuki.

Sasuke is a fair-skinned ninja with chin-length dark hair and black eyes. His hair is spiky in the back, with a longer fringe. As a young child, his fringe hung over his eyes. During his early childhood, he initially wore darker clothing similar to Orochimaru's (a gray turtleneck shirt, vest, dark pants, and bandages), with his long hair and fringe covering his face. Later, after Itachi's death, he wore a black hooded cloak, a white shirt, black pants, and fingerless gloves, along with his sword and headband hanging from his hip. Finally, he wore a long, dark blue coat over an indigo shirt and a gray vest, having lost his left arm and replaced it with a steel prosthesis, along with a purple belt and black boots.

Is he considered attractive? :: Sasuke Uchiha is considered one of the most attractive characters. In the manga and anime, Sasuke has been popular with women since his academy days. Naruto himself has explicitly acknowledged in dialogue that Sasuke is "very handsome." His "cool guy" appearance (mysterious, fair-skinned, and with long hair) fits the standard of attractiveness in both Japanese and Western culture. Within the Naruto universe, it is frequently mentioned that members of the Uchiha clan, such as Itachi or Izuna, possess a distinctive physical beauty.

At age seven, Sasuke returned home to find his entire clan, including his parents, murdered. The perpetrator was his own older brother, Itachi, the person he admired and loved most. Itachi forced Sasuke to relive his parents' deaths through a genjutsu thousands of times over 70 hours. This resulted in severe post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). He grew up in the shadow of his brother's genius, feeling invisible to his father. Left alone, his pain wasn't a lack of love (like Naruto's), but the traumatic loss of everything he had and the emptiness of silence—clear symptoms of major depressive disorder and, more prominently, PTSD. At various stages, Sasuke displays such despair that he seems not to care about dying if he fails to achieve his revenge. For example, he exposes himself to lethal risks against Orochimaru or the Five Kage, prioritizing his goal over his survival. He loses interest in normal activities for a young man his age, focusing exclusively on his pain and hatred. He becomes emotionally distant and antisocial as a defense mechanism. After Itachi's death, he suffers a breakdown upon discovering that his life's purpose (revenge) was based on a lie, plunging him into deep confusion and guilt. He experiences recurring nightmares, hallucinations (such as seeing his deceased relatives in the Uchiha district), and panic attacks when reminded of the trauma. For Sasuke, revenge functioned as a substitute for the will to live. Various analyses suggest that without that goal, he would have succumbed completely to clinical depression. His obsession with power was an attempt to regain control over a life he felt powerless over during the massacre of his clan.

Sakura not only likes Sasuke, but she is deeply in love with him. She has loved Sasuke since they were children at the Ninja Academy. Unlike other admirers, her feelings evolved from a superficial attraction to an unconditional love that survived even when Sasuke became an international criminal and tried to kill her in his darkest moments. However, Sasuke doesn't like Sakura; rather, as a child, he mostly ignored or looked down on her. On rare occasions, Sakura was lucky enough to be protected by Sasuke.

Konohagakure no Sato, literally meaning "Hidden Village Among the Leaves," also known as "Hidden Village in the Leaves" or "Hidden Village of the Leaf," is the hidden village of the Land of Fire. As one of the Five Great Ninja Villages, Konoha has a Kage as its leader, known as the Hokage. In total, Konoha has had seven Hokage, with Shikamaru Nara serving as the current Hokage on an interim basis following the disappearance of Naruto Uzumaki. The Hokage Rock rises on a mountain overlooking the village from the north. Although Konoha, like the country it resides in, has been relatively peaceful since the end of the Fourth Shinobi World War, it remains one of the most powerful villages in existence, possessing great military might and influence, though this had diminished a few years prior due to attacks by Orochimaru and Pain. It is also one of the villages with the most allies.

Before the establishment of ninja villages, ninja communities were organized into small mercenary clans hired for battle. Of the countless ninja clans, the Uchiha and Senju clans were the strongest. After much bloodshed, the Senju clan offered the Uchiha a truce. The Uchiha leader, Madara Uchiha, told Hashirama that to gain his trust, he must either commit suicide or kill his brother, Tobirama. Hashirama, without hesitation, chose suicide, but Madara stopped him, arguing that he had already witnessed Hashirama's courage. Thus, the clans formed an alliance. After the alliance, they made a pact with the Land of Fire to create a ninja village. The Senju, Uchiha, and other clans united to create Konoha. Madara named the village, and Hashirama created the title of Hokage for the village leader, believing Madara to be the most suitable for the position. Tobirama and the rest of the villagers, including the Uchiha Clan, objected. Hashirama Senju, the leader of the Senju, used his Wood Release abilities to create much of the village's infrastructure. For this reason, he was chosen by the villagers to be the first Hokage. Fearing that the Senju, now in control of Konoha, would oppress their former rivals, the Uchiha, Madara sought support to defeat Hashirama. The Uchiha refused to support him, forcing him to fight Hashirama alone. Madara was ultimately defeated at what would be called the Valley of the End, and it is believed he died there. After the battle, Konoha came into possession of the Nine-Tailed Demon Fox. To contain its power, the village began sealing the tailed beast within the Uzumaki clan, a clan related to the Senju, and thus the rest of Konoha had close ties to them. Hashirama gave the other tailed beasts in his possession to the other villages that were being established to promote peace.

From the very beginning, Sasuke is portrayed as a cold, stern, unfriendly, and proud boy with a great talent for Ninjutsu and Taijutsu, and thanks to his Sharingan, also for Genjutsu. In the first part of the series, his sole and cherished ambition is to become powerful at any cost to achieve his two goals: killing his brother Itachi Uchiha and rebuilding his clan (though he has shown no interest in the latter). Sasuke despises camaraderie and is quite proud, to the point of being arrogant, as he is aware of his superior abilities as an Uchiha. After graduation, upon hearing that he would be assigned a three-man team, he expressed annoyance, believing they might get in his way. Later, it is revealed that Sasuke wasn't always like this; in his childhood, he was an affectionate, cheerful, and carefree boy, despite living in the shadow of his older brother, to whom his father, Fugaku Uchiha, paid more attention. Despite this, Sasuke loved his brother very much and always tried to be like him. After the massacre of the entire Uchiha clan at Itachi's hands, the young Uchiha's heart was consumed by hatred, drastically altering his character. As the story progresses, Sasuke comes to value his friendships and set aside his thirst for revenge, especially thanks to his relationships with Naruto Uzumaki and Sakura Haruno, whom he comes to cherish as very important people in his life. However, after being tempted by Orochimaru and defeated once again by his brother, Sasuke decides to sever his bonds, considering them an obstacle, and becomes impassive and obsessed with his goals. To achieve these goals, he doesn't hesitate to ally himself with Orochimaru and attempt to kill Naruto to obtain the Mangekyō Sharingan, though he ultimately refrains from doing so, believing it would be following in his brother's twisted footsteps. Orochimaru himself states that "he is more susceptible than I am."

When Sasuke first saw two Jōnin fighting, Zabuza against Kakashi, he thought about committing suicide. When he first saw Kakashi Hatake's Sharingan, he believed he was a survivor of the Uchiha Clan. Its name was given in honor of the father of the Third Hokage, Sasuke Sarutobi. In the Chūnin Exams, Sasuke becomes the team leader while they search for the Heaven and Earth scrolls. He is the first person to survive the A Light Bomb. At some point, Sakura said she had heard that he liked girls with long hair. It seems Sakura was the only one able to stop Sasuke when he was corrupted by the Cursed Seal. This happens in the Forest of Death, and later, the memory of Sakura's embrace, tears, and plea helps Sasuke suppress the Juinjutsu during the preliminary rounds of the exam. Unlike most characters in Naruto, Sasuke does not refer to people with honorifics at the end of their names (except for his parents, clan members, and Itachi as a child), such as "Kakashi-sensei" or "Orochimaru-Sama," something that the Japanese consider very insulting or rude. During the OVA "Finally a Clash! Jōnin vs Genin!! Indiscriminate Meeting Magnificent Melee Tournament!!" it can be seen that he is not carrying the shuriken pouch. Although Sasuke's first appearance was in chapter 3, he can actually be seen sitting behind Naruto in chapter 1, on page 13. It is unknown whether he has received any promotion. In the Latin American version of the anime, Sasuke is pronounced "Saske," but at one point Orochimaru calls him "Sasuke." This has caused several debates about how it's actually pronounced. The correct spelling is SASUKE, and the correct pronunciation is SASKE. However, in Japanese writing, there is no "s" sound, and to write a name with the letter S in the middle, "su" is used and pronounced like "s," as we can see in Sanosuke, Yusuke, etc.
