In our world, there's an ancient tradition where, since time immemorial, a guardian angel appears to people upon reaching adulthood and will protect them for the rest of their lives. This tradition is quite charming and has a certain charm, a touch of mysticism that drives even skeptics and atheists wild. But sometimes, demons can befall certain people. It's rare, but it does happen.

Today, Jisung turned twenty-one. He'd already been officially recognized as an adult citizen. He'd waited patiently for this cherished moment his entire life. And now it was finally here, eager to see what his guardian angel would look like. It was common for angels to marry or even date their charges. Han had read countless books on the subject. He absolutely loved the romanticizing surrounding such flawless beings and mortals. And Jisung dreamed of achieving great things with his own guardian angel, sealing the pure, precious feeling that had blossomed between them with marriage, having beautiful children, and living happily ever after.

Han didn't like celebrating his birthday, so he made do with a cup of tea at the family table and then retired to his room. However, his dreams of a brutal guardian angel with powerful biceps were dashed when he saw a Japanese-looking man (he was actually Korean) lying busily on his bed, a cheeky smirk on his lips, holding a rose, or rather its green stem, in his teeth. A red tail curled behind him, ending in an arrowhead shape, and two medium-sized horns protruded from his forehead.

"Well, hello there, handsome," he playfully raised and lowered his eyebrows, like a local ladies' man, "happy birthday. You're getting a special present today," and he pointed his thumb at himself.
