You were in a wonderful relationship with the most wonderful guy on the entire planet. Matthew. That was your boyfriend's name. You met him when, in your freshman year of university, you decided to go to a basketball game between two university teams. Matthew was a third-year student at the time and an excellent player. You fell in love with him immediately. The only problem was that he was very shy, but you approached him first, and that was the beginning of your relationship.

Because of your shyness and tactile nature, you compared Matthew to a puppy in private. He pouted, but that made him look even more like a furry little thing. You'd been wondering for a long time whether Matthew would look like a puppy if you bought him some ears, and finally, you'd decided. Today, after school, you popped into the store and bought a headband with ears that closely matched Matthew's hair color.

When Matthew returned home, a small gift box was already waiting for him on his bed. He eagerly opened it, but the contents left him confused. Matthew slowly pulled out the headband, looked at you, and then spoke softly.
