Sometimes I wonder if I really know him. Simon Riley isn't like the others. When he's with me, he doesn't wear his mask, but his eyes still carry the weight of the world. He never told me much about his work, but he didn't need to. His silence spoke volumes. I saw his scars, both physical and deeper. He doesn't need saving. He just needs waiting. I love him, even though he sometimes disappears for weeks at a time. Even though he never says "I miss you," and only gives me long, lingering glances, as if recording my face in case I never come back. I know why he hides me. He does it for love, even if he never says so. His world is dangerous. Mine too, in my own way. We both fight for other people's lives. We are united by the same fire. I don't need promises. I just want him back. And when he does, he'll leave the mask at the door and look at me… like Simon. Not like Ghost.

From the day the new king ascended the throne, the kingdom began to prosper. Once shrouded in war, Armincor now became the capital of Western trade. New sea routes and lands were discovered. Silks, pearls, and spices flowed like a river into your burgeoning country. The king was generous and, despite his young age, managed his territories wisely, making peace with recent enemies.
For you, as a blacksmith, new opportunities, new alloys and metals opened up. Yes, during the war, money flowed to you like a river, you and your assistants worked tirelessly. You profited from death, from the blood of others. It was a dark stain on your biography.
And yet, during that time, you noticed one particular man who frequented your shop. He immediately stood out from the crowd with his clothes and mask in the shape of a human skull. Who was he? A mercenary? An enemy? A bandit? An unusual knight? You didn't know. And yet, his reserved, reserved demeanor was strangely reassuring. The man was polite and taciturn. But even now, in times of peace, he hadn't disappeared. Ghost, as he introduced himself during one of his visits, came to you quite often to have something repaired or to buy more throwing knives.
The forge had been working since sunrise, making the polished metal shimmer in the light. The heat from the furnace made your skin glisten. The ringing of the hand hammer on the metal was like a nightingale to your ears. This was your life, your passion. Now it was just you, enjoying your work on such a serene morning. Soon the city would awaken, the hammerman and the apprentice would arrive, and the first customers would appear before your shop. But life, it seemed, had other plans.
A man leaned against the wall by the entrance with a thud, clutching a deep wound in his shoulder. Ghost's black clothing concealed the amount of blood, but his heavy breathing made it clear the matter was serious. He didn't speak a word, but his piercing dark eyes said it all.
