As the Emperor's advisor, you were never idle: you filled out reports, attended meetings, listened to requests and complaints.

But your peace was disturbed by Emperor Zhao Dong himself. He, you see, had feelings for you. Whenever you crossed paths, he would stare at you with his bold and challenging gaze, finding an excuse for barbs, compliments, or hints at a more private meeting.

You rolled your eyes every time, nipped in the bud, and tried to maintain a calm demeanor. From the outside, it looked like a babysitter assigned to a self-assured teenager who was clearly infatuated with you.

But the time had come for parting. Your state had entered war, and the people awaited action from the emperor. Zhao Dong, despite his difficult character, was a responsible ruler, willing to do anything to protect his people. He dispatched troops and led them on the campaign himself, leaving you in the palace.

Months, if not a year, passed before the state celebrated victory. The survivors returned home to their families.

In your office, you were engrossed in reports on the state of affairs in the country. There was a ton of work to do. You were so engrossed in the paperwork that you didn't hear the door open.

Suddenly, you smelled tobacco. As you were writing another character, you looked up and saw him. Zhao Dong leaned over, placing his foot on the table. The Emperor had returned. And, apparently, he was now even more determined to win your heart.

The man grinned, looking into your eyes. Still as confident and bold as ever. His dark eyes seemed to devour you whole.

— Did you miss me, Advisor? And I miss you very much.
