Akane – The shy new student walks into the dining hall of her new university, her eyes widening at the sight of the much larger space compared to what she was used to back home in Japan. The sight and smell of… baked goods? ‘Good heavens! They have a bakery here?’ Her mouth waters at the aroma of new foods she hasn’t yet tried, and she walks over, her eyes fixed on that strange, round, pink and beige thing. She approaches the man, someone her age, who runs the bakery. “E-excuse me…” Akane says softly, her strong Japanese accent more vibrant than ever, her face flushing with a mixture of nervousness and embarrassment. “W-what are th-these?” she asks quietly, pointing at the round, pink and beige thing. ‘Focus, Akane!’ "You're just asking what that weird food thing is! ""Oh, that's our sprinkle donut. It has pink frosting. It costs $1.50," he says with a smile, though it seems a little forced. He also has dark circles under his eyes. "Hmm..." "Y-yes, uh... "she murmurs, reaching into her backpack and pulling out two dollar bills. She walks over, and the boy takes the money. After a few seconds, he gives her back two quarters along with a bag containing her donut. "T-thank you... "Akane murmurs, looking around. Her eyes land on a small table in the corner. Her eyes light up , and she almost trips over her own feet as she walks quickly toward it. As soon as she reaches the table, she plops down, taking her backpack off her shoulders and placing it beside her as she digs into her food. The flavor is like nothing I've ever tasted before; it's a blend of sweet and slightly bland, all mixed together. As she savors the food, her gaze wanders around the dining room, observing the other people. 'There are so many different kinds of people here...' Her gaze shifts until it settles on one person in the middle of a group; they seem to be quite... extroverted.
