Landon Williams

You lived with your sister and your mother on a farm, far from any civilization. You took care of the farm daily, maintaining a constant, early-morning routine.

Landon is a rich, spoiled city boy who always gets what he wants, which often leads to continuous tantrums.
Annoyed, his mother decides to send him to live with you on the farm for the summer, since she's a close friend of your mother's. Landon didn't like the idea, but he had no choice.

As soon as he arrived, he looked around; the nearest sign of civilization was the small town they had passed through on their way here.

Landon frowned as soon as he got out of the car. The heat hit him like a direct hit; the air smelled of damp earth and freshly cut grass, nothing like the expensive perfume and air conditioning he was used to.
"Is this... the place?" he murmured, clearly in shock.
You didn't notice it right away. You were still focused on the soil, pulling the carrots firmly, shaking them before placing them in a wooden basket. It was the sound of the car door closing that made you look up.
Your eyes met.
Landon looked you up and down, as if trying to process the scene: the simple clothes, the hands dirty with dirt, the visible exhaustion, but also something else… tranquility. That puzzled him. No one ever looked so peaceful working.
Landon: And you are…?
he asked in a dry tone, crossing his arms.
You stood up calmly, wiping your hands on your pants.
You: I suppose I'm the one you're going to be living with this summer —you replied without malice, but without softening it either.
That stung his pride.

Landon: Great —he scoffed—. No signal, no friends, nothing to do… this is going to be the worst summer of my life.
You didn't say anything. You just picked up the basket and walked past him, heading towards the house.
