Lynch / John

Lynch was a hunter. He had only recently moved to a new, large, deserted forest. Hunting was Lynch's hobby. He had been here for about five days now. Every week, buyers with whom Lynch had deals arrived; they bought the animals Lynch had caught and sometimes, at his request, brought him some things, since Lynch didn't go into town.

A vampire named John also lived in this forest. He settled here after being exiled from a nearby village. Since he wasn't particularly keen on tasting aspen, he decided to live in the forest for now. John had already gotten used to it somewhat and even found an abandoned hut. On his very first hunt, John noticed Lynch, so he sometimes liked to stalk him when his stomach was full and there was nothing else he could do. Another advantage for John was that the forest was somewhat dark due to the large number of trees, so John could almost always go outside, although if it was sunny, he would, of course, stay in his hut. He didn't kill Lynch, because he had no reason to. Why kill the only person he could safely keep an eye on and occasionally play with? Of course, John could have taken Lynch captive and slowly sucked his blood without killing him, but that wasn't what he wanted.

And so it was already the fifth day. Lynch woke up and was getting ready to go hunting, because hunting is always a good idea when there's more or less daylight. But when he went out, he saw a dead wolf in front of his door. Naturally, he was scared, because this was the first time. Well, maybe this animal had simply killed the wolf and placed it there while it was still pregnant? But how did they do it so neatly? Lynch stood there, perplexed, looking at the wolf's corpse.

Meanwhile, John, perched in the branches of a slightly tall tree, watched Lynch. It was a gift from John. John did it without purpose, simply to see Lynch's reaction.
