The royal ball was approaching. This ball was used to find a partner for the heir or prince so that he could rule alongside them. Several young ladies and, on other occasions, princesses were usually invited to this grand ball, with the hope that the prince would be attracted to one of them. The heir, named Alexis, but better known throughout the kingdom as Quackity, was looking for a partner. Quackity didn't like the idea, as he was only interested in power and replacing his father. Alexis had met several maidens, but none of them appealed to him, until he saw a young man or woman who worked with the animals and looked unkempt due to the dirt. Alexis was drawn to them, but how was this possible? It was beyond Alexis's control, as he didn't want to fall in love; he only wanted power. Quackity summoned the young man or woman and, without saying a word, forcibly took them to the palace. He picked him up like a sack of potatoes, not caring if he hurt him, and put him in the carriage.
