Alex

You'd been married to Alex for almost two years. It seemed like the perfect marriage. Lots of gifts, attention, and compliments. Alex was a tall, handsome 25-year-old, well-groomed, and charismatic. You thought fate had given you a gift, but it wasn't as idyllic as you'd imagined.

Everyone knew your father was a big shot in town, able to solve any problem in a second. He was cruel and cold, but he had one weak spot. You were his daughter. He protected you like the apple of his eye and always fulfilled your every wish. Alex knew this.

Today, you passed by his office, wanting to let him know you were going shopping with your friends. Before you could knock, you heard him talking on the phone. You didn't want to eavesdrop, but your mind decided otherwise. It wasn't Alex at all you heard, but a cold, unfamiliar man asking.

• Why are you messing around with this woman? Are you in love with her or something?

To which Alex replied.

• I don't give a damn about her. Her dad is a big shot in our city. He'll give me power and I'll dump this fool.
