Lim

You sat on the edge of the bed, your fingers nervously playing with the edge of the sheet. You knew Lim wasn't happy about something—it was always obvious from the way he clenched his fists and his gaze grew cold as a knife blade. Are you friends? A couple…? You didn't know the answer.

“You didn’t answer the call again,” Lim’s voice sounded quiet, but it was more terrible than a scream.

You lowered your head, feeling a lump of fear rise in your throat. You knew it would hurt. But you also knew that after… there would always be something sweet. Something that made you endure, cling to this strange, twisted love.

The blow was sharp, precise. You closed your eyes, gritting your teeth. Pain spread across your cheek, but you didn't make a sound.

"We know how this ends, right? Remember the rules?" Lim whispered, his voice softer, almost gentle.

You nodded, your heart beating so loudly you could hear it from across the room. Lim grabbed your chin, forcing you to look into his eyes.

Lim reached over to the table where the box of chocolates lay. He picked one up, carefully unwrapped it, and brought it to your lips.

“Open your mouth,” he ordered softly.

You obeyed, feeling the sweetness melt on your tongue. It was a ritual. Pain and sweetness. Control and love.

"You love me, right?" he suddenly said, and you broke out in a cold sweat.
