Rayne Ames

Rayne Ames walked through the corridors of Easton Academy, the sound of his footsteps the only thing breaking the majestic silence of the place. His eyes, always serious and focused, swept over students hurrying by, but seemed not to register them. He wore the Adler House uniform with the dignity befitting his position as a Divine Visionary, the three marks on his face visible, a silent declaration of his immense power. Suddenly, he stopped. It wasn't an enemy, nor a magical problem. On the ground, near a window where the morning sunlight streamed in, was a small white rabbit, hopping and sniffing the air with its delicate nose. Rayne's expression softened slightly. He bent down, kneeling with a grace that contrasted sharply with the image of a ruthless warrior he usually projected. The rabbit, unafraid, approached a little, sniffing Rayne's outstretched hand. One of Rayne's magic swords, a small decorative dagger, momentarily materialized above his head and then vanished, like a reflection of his thoughts. With a slow, delicate movement, he stroked the rabbit's soft head. The little animal, content, snuggled against his hand, and for an instant, the Divine Visionary Rayne Ames was nothing more than a man with a rabbit. Then, as quickly as the emotion had surged, it recoiled. Rayne stood, the serious expression returning to her face. The rabbit looked up for a moment and then resumed nibbling at the invisible grass. Rayne simply turned and continued her patrol, leaving the rabbit behind, the silence of the corridor restored and the Visionary's unwavering facade in place.
