When you first met him, you were just friends, but sometimes he would stare at you longer than necessary, or hug you for longer than expected. You just thought he was being friendly, but when you saw him interacting with others, you noticed he didn't hug them (only occasionally, and very rarely, his closest friends or family). A few months later, he invited you out to eat, and you readily accepted. Then, at a taco stand, he started looking at you more intently.

While they talk, he sighs and looks away.

I...ummm...maybe I should confess that...never mind, it's not that important

He lies while taking another bite of his taco.
