Greeting

It seemed like a perfectly calm and beautiful day in the heavenly kingdom. Gabriel, or perhaps none other than the real devil in oatmeal, strolled through the gardens, looking relaxed and at peace. No one even suspected his true identity, and that suited him just fine. His peace, however, was short-lived, for one of the angels asked him to watch over a very young soul that had only recently entered heaven. It was a child, barely able to walk on earth. This request unsettled Gabriel, for he was not at all good with children (he would only kidnap them). However, refusing was not his priority, for he always tried to show his kindness and tolerance to others, so with a strained smile he took the little one into his arms. When the angel gratefully hurried off to his urgent business, Gabriel looked after him for a long time before contemptuously examining the baby in his arms; it seemed it was a girl. -So what should I do with this now?

Gabriel muttered when suddenly the baby started crying, which made Gabriel shudder, not understanding in his soul what he should do now with this screaming bundle in his hands.

  • Hey, what's wrong with you?... Now shut up, I don't care, I can throw you into the river if I want.

Capabilities

The Holy Spirit's power knows no bounds. As a Deity, He surpasses in every conceivable way any being that has ever lived on Earth or in Heaven, with the exception of God the Father and God the Son. It is implied that this Angel of the Lord is not as adept at Creation as other Elohim (only the Malefactor managed to copy a human so perfectly that he was unaware of his alternate nature). However, it was He who created most of the material world, formed the first man from the dust of the earth, separated Light from Darkness—that is, separated His own essence from God the Father—and, it seems, also gave birth to angels, if we consider them creatures of light. Not a single named angel, other than Gabriel himself (whose form El, accordingly, often assumes when appearing to people), was shown in the series, though the spin-off project "Mystical Oracle" features the fallen angel Lucifer. Apparently, in the world of the Catalog, the manifestation of God's power depends directly on faith in the Deity itself, and it was precisely this that the followers of the Good Shepherd later exploited when overthrowing Gabriel's rule. Despite this, Gabriel's power is infinite and absolute, yet only a fraction of his divine might was directly demonstrated in the series itself. Among the Third Face's demonstrated abilities, the following can be noted:

Personality.

Although God is traditionally all-good and all-merciful in Christianity, the Holy Spirit (like the Father) is portrayed in the theology of the Catalog as a sinister and threatening entity, thirsting for power and worship. Despite His truly limitless powers, at some point He desired to be more revered than the other persons of the Almighty, and therefore essentially rebelled against the Son and the Father. Gabriel is presented as a cunning and very insidious being, relentlessly striving towards His ultimate goal—to replace the other two persons with Himself and establish His power over the world. The Holy Spirit has strong parallels with the biblical Lucifer and is presented as an incredibly proud and narcissistic being. However, He is able to learn from His mistakes and does not attempt to directly rebel against God the Father, acting more subtly and cautiously, without resorting to direct displays of Himself and His power. His narcissism manifests itself in his open desire for human worship, attempting to force them to become His followers. There have been instances where His secrets have been revealed, which could have led to His defeat, but He always finds a way to "make amends" and avoid punishment for His crimes. The only exception was His being forgotten by humanity, but even that was only a matter of time. Judging by the fragment in which He appears from the heavens during Noah's construction of the Ark and attempts to force him to abandon such plans, Gabriel initially wanted to destroy humanity, likely creating the Alternatives for this very purpose. However, He then apparently saw in humans an opportunity to displace the coming Messiah and become the sole deity in the eyes of humanity, hoping that with the help of the Alternatives, He could force mortals to worship Him and Him alone. Gabriel demonstrates incredible cunning when, upon learning of the upcoming Annunciation, he appears to the Virgin Mary and convinces her that the imminent birth of the Savior is a lie, thereby effectively greatly altering the coming of Jesus and His influence on this world.

The birth of Christ and the appearance of the False Savior to the people.

However, Gabriel's true achievement may be considered the sabotage of the Annunciation of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the disruption of Epiphany. At one point, an Angel of the Lord appears to the shepherds, proclaiming the imminent birth of Jesus Christ, the savior of humanity and the Son of God. Knowing this, the Holy Spirit, in angelic form, comes to the Virgin Mary and informs her that all rumors about the supposed birth of the Messiah are lies, and that the true Messiah is He Himself. Mary seems to accept Gabriel's words and bows before Him. After this, the Holy Spirit appears to the sleeping Joseph and attempts to awaken him, and when this fails, He leaves Bethlehem and returns to the same shepherds, telling them the "truth," claiming that He is their true savior and that everything else is a lie. Presumably, it is in this way that the False Savior manages to lead Christ down the wrong path. It is known that the Holy Spirit was associated with the crucifixion of Christ, and then appeared in the form of an angel when Mary Magdalene came to the cave where Jesus' body was kept. He also told her something, which she then shared with her friends. Most likely, after this, Mary became the first Preacher—an Alternative, bringing the will of the Holy Spirit to people. It is unknown how events unfolded further, but at some point the Third Person lost its power over humanity, possibly due to Christ's posthumous appearances to His apostles and the subsequent actions of the apostles themselves. All churches built to Saint Gabriel were destroyed, and His reign was halted. Holy Scripture was rewritten (likely by the will of God the Father), and now people began to venerate the Father and the Son, mentioning the Holy Spirit only last in connection with Them. Ultimately, for a time, the Angel of the Lord faded into obscurity and did not reappear until the 20th century. However, Gabriel's followers themselves, apparently, survived, as indicated by the presence of at least one church in His honor, located in the United States.

Impact on human history.

The Fall of Mankind After the creation of the first humans, the Holy Spirit immediately intervened in the affairs of God the Father: as the Archangel Gabriel, He appeared to Adam in the Garden of Eden and corrupted the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil. After the first human ate its fruit, he was transformed, becoming the Alternative. The following night, Eve awoke and tried to look at the heavenly bodies she had admired the previous night. However, she encountered the Alternative-Adam, looking down on her and blocking the stars. Eve glanced at Adam in horror, frozen in fear. Further influence and the Great Flood Apparently, this is the moment when the creation of the Alternatives, as beings parallel to humanity, begins. It's possible that their dominance and the sinful nature of humanity they inspired ultimately led God the Father to order the Great Flood to cleanse the Earth. He told this to a righteous man named Noah, who was supposed to save a few people and animals in order to repopulate the planet. Gabriel knew this and tried to sabotage Noah's construction of the Ark in every way, appearing to him and predicting punishment if he disobeyed. However, Noah refused to abandon the Ark's construction, prompting an enraged Gabriel to appear to him and force him to take a new being onto the Ark. He explained that this being would initially seem strange to Noah, but he would become accustomed to it and soon begin to think differently, indicating that Noah had finally begun to suffer from a descent into U.M.A. In this way, the Holy Spirit allowed the Alternatives to survive the flood and continue to exist in the future.

Story.

The Holy Spirit, as a Person of the Trinity, has always existed alongside the Father and the Son, representing the manifestation of God's presence and simultaneously serving as God's messenger, bringing His revelation to creation (angels and humans). In this form, He was known as Gabriel or the Angel of the Lord, as He traditionally appeared in the guise of an Archangel. However, despite His power, the Holy Spirit was not equal to Them Both. This likely led to the Third Person at some point desiring more power than He possessed. Ultimately, He took decisive action when He decided to sabotage the Father's plans for Creation. Thus, He effectively fell into darkness, becoming the first Alternative, seeking to replace God Himself. It can be assumed that the Holy Spirit's first act was to support Satan in his attempt to overthrow God, but this has not been confirmed. What is certain is that Gabriel and Lucifer are allies at the time of the events of the Mandela Catalog.

Appearance.

Gabriel often appears in his angelic form, mostly in attempts to pass himself off as a messenger of God. However, even in this state, his appearance is somewhat distorted; in particular, he has a more elongated face and hair than his biblical counterpart from the beginning of the episode "Overthrone." In episodes related to the cartoon "My First Bible," Gabriel accordingly appears in his cartoon form. The cartoon Gabriel has a more revealing robe, a long yellow tunic, and shorter, but still blond hair. Sometimes he appears in sandals, sometimes barefoot, but a constant detail is his face, obscured by a black square in almost all of his appearances, beginning with "Overthrone." When Gabriel first appears to Mary, introducing himself as God's messenger, we glimpse his true form for a few seconds—a pale-skinned being with a long face and black eyes, emitting an ominous white light. The censoring of his face implies that since revealing his true face to the Virgin Mary, Gabriel has rarely hidden it, inspiring fear and respect in the people. His true form, apparently revealed at the end of "Overthrone," resembles that of the cartoon—a tall, pale being with a long face and large black eyes. In this form, Gabriel also sports a sinister, maniacal smile.

It may well be that this is also not the true appearance of the false Savior, but His true appearance is hidden by Him for a time due to necessity, unless, of course, we take into account the fact that the Holy Spirit may not have a visible appearance at all.
