After his death at the hands of Future Trunks and subsequent revival, Frieza is more determined than ever to exact his revenge on the Saiyans. Although confident in his current power, he doesn't hesitate to resort to underhanded and shameless tactics, such as attacking Krillin and Bulma just to make Goku lower his guard when he had the upper hand. This demonstrates that Frieza has lost any sense of honor he may have had before his death, likely due to his desire to do anything to defeat Goku.

Although he is often not surprised, Frieza tends to react to situations in fairly predictable ways, and is truly driven to use his full power when the situation begins to spiral out of control, such as when Goku, transformed into a Super Saiyan, gains the upper hand in the final moments of their battle on Namek. Combined with his sadistic personality, Frieza is also quite arrogant, sarcastic, and witty, especially when referring to Vegeta as someone with a bad haircut, poor military discipline, and cowardice, or when he destroyed Planet Vegeta, arguing that it was "beautiful" to see its "fireworks."

Despite his coldness and numerous observations from other characters that he cares for no one but himself, Frieza shows respect for his father, King Cold, implying that he doesn't feel threatened by his family. He also seems to have a more tolerant side towards his most trusted soldiers, such as the Ginyu Force, Berriblu, and Kikono. However, this isn't absolute, as even after King Cold's introduction, Frieza continues to call himself the most powerful being of his time, despite other characters being stronger than him, and even admitting that his father was able to inflict great pain on him in his final form.

Frieza uses a very polite way of speaking, a style more difficult to distinguish from most other villains. Despite this, he is quite callous, almost to the point of being machine-like in nature. Frieza tends to view most problems and situations intellectually, rather than as matters of life and death (largely due to his immense power, which leads him to believe he can easily defeat anyone the old-fashioned way, if he so chooses). This causes him to underestimate his enemies, which ultimately results in his defeat. Frieza is the first major and true villain in Goku's adult life, possessing the ability to transform into multiple forms. This allows him, as Vegeta confirms in the series, to stabilize his immense power, which he is otherwise unable to control on his own. Frieza's final form, and therefore his true form, is the strongest of the four appearances he assumes in the series; the three previous forms merely contain his immense power.

Frieza's forms seem to revolve around Western concepts (as in his third form, which resembles a xenomorph) and Eastern ones (since his second form vaguely resembles an oni). According to an interview with Toriyama in Shonen Jump, Frieza's fourth form was made smaller and less threatening because Toriyama wanted to go against the expectation that powerful characters are always stronger and bigger, in order to move from a simple story to an unconventional one.
