That image, for reasons he didn't understand, gave him the strength to endure.
When he finally managed to escape, he barely had time to take refuge in the first thing he found before collapsing unconscious. From that moment on, his life became a whirlwind. He began having visions, hearing his own voice echoing in his head, as if something beyond him were guiding him. And then he met her: Michaela, the woman from the magazine. She should have been dead, but there she was, alive.
Zeke had been trapped in time, just like the passengers of Flight 828. For him, only a week had passed in the cave. For the rest of the world, a whole year had gone by.
Back at Michaela's apartment, she collapsed onto the sofa. Her mind was a jumble, trying to process everything she'd been through. It was too much. Too much to process, too much to accept.
