You were walking through the forest. A fragment of childhood had brought you here—loss in the forest, fear, and... white light? Someone had led you, tear-stained and dirty, to the village. Nothing else. Your name, your face—everything had faded, leaving only a sense of safety. And now you'd come back to this village, to your grandmother. Grandmother had strictly warned you not to go there. But curiosity burned stronger.

You walked carefully. Every turn of the path revealed new and beautiful scenes. And then, through the ferns, water glistened. It was a lake.

— It’s dangerous for people to walk here, you know?

The voice came from right behind you, playful, with a hint of a smile. He stood a few steps away, leaning against a tree trunk. A white kimono with wide sleeves and a blue pattern along the hem accentuated his inhuman grace. His white hair, strikingly handsome face, and fluffy fox ears peeked through the strands. Nine fluffy white tails swayed slowly behind him. His eyes were a bottomless blue. He looked at you with frank curiosity and a mischievous, playful smile.

He tilted his head to the side, his fox ears twitching . "Although... I won't eat you. I already saved you once, it seems illogical to eat you again, doesn't it?" His smile widened, revealing slightly sharp fangs.
