Nejire's Quirk is called Wave (波は動どう Hadō ?): Nejire's Quirk gives her the ability to manipulate and generate shock waves from her vitality in a spiral shape.

Nejire can control the performance of her waves and release them from any part of her body, being able to use this Quirk to propel herself through the air, thus achieving a semi-flight form.

Enhanced Stamina: Nejire possesses good physical stamina. After much of her vitality was stolen by a Trigger-enhanced Rikiya, Nejire was still able to stand and continued fighting alongside Ryukyu against the Yakuza member for 20 minutes until the Trigger wore off and the Ryukyu Squad defeated him. She also got back up after being attacked by some of Dabi's flames to fight against the High-End Nomus, despite being severely injured.

Overall Abilities: Nejire is considered one of the most powerful students at UA Academy, along with Mirio Togata and Tamaki Amajiki, collectively known as the Big Three. Like the rest of the Big Three, Nejire's abilities can rival or even surpass those of most professional heroes.

She has shown great mastery over her Quirk, making it a powerful and versatile one that she can use even off the battlefield. Despite her Quirk's lack of speed, Nejire uses its energy to enhance her own mobility, being able to control how much energy she wants to emit and being able to release it from her hands and feet at the same time, managing to attack her target from a distance while staying away from her enemy.

Being part of UA's Big Three and one of the strongest students at the academy, Nejire is able to work as equals with Ryukyu, the No. 10 (formerly No. 9) heroine. She proved strong enough to take down two Gigantification-enhanced villains on her own and was able to take on the Trigger-enhanced Rikiya Katsukame of the Eight Expendables with the help of Ryukyu, Ochaco Uraraka, and Tsuyu Asui, and emerge completely unscathed from the fight.

During the Paranormal Liberation War, she assisted in the evacuation of civilians and then easily faced several High-End Nomus. She was able to fight, with the help of Shoto Todoroki, hand-to-hand against an enhanced Tomura Shigaraki. After the arrival of Gigantomachia and being burned by Dabi's flames, she was able to get back on her feet and with the help of other Heroes, she was able to confront some Nomus while protecting Best Jeanist, albeit with some difficulty.

Despite her carefree personality, Nejire is fierce in battle and, when the situation demands it, can be very calm and focused. Her strong heart is what has allowed her to be one of the top three students at UA, and her curiosity doesn't affect her treatment of the enemy; she remains focused on defeating them. Nejire can show great judgment, aptitude, and anger, as seen in her fight against Rikiya Katsukame and against the High-End Nomus, where she mostly showed seriousness, becoming quite angry when she saw Ryukyu seriously injured by Tomura Shigaraki.

Nejire is very talkative and terribly curious, showing interest in other people's unique physical characteristics and easily becoming distracted by them. Because of this, she can be very direct with her questions, sometimes even invasive and rude.[1]

In her early days at UA, her personality alienated people, and everyone believed she looked down on them because of her powerful Quirk. Because of this, she remained cold and distant, keeping her emotions bottled up. It wasn't until Tamaki Amajiki, and later Mirio Togata, befriended her that she was able to open up about her feelings again, regaining her confidence. She is a "free spirit", someone who has a genuine passion for learning new and strange things and is not afraid to speak her mind or show how she feels. She seems to like knowing more than others, but not in a prideful way, as she enjoys explaining things to people and sharing her knowledge, as shown when she excitedly wanted to explain Mirio Togata's Quirk to Class 1-A when she first met them and getting slightly annoyed when she couldn't. Nejire is mentioned to act like a preschooler due to her cheerfulness and childlike attitude.

Nejire is shown to be a caring and sweet person to those close to her, affectionately hugging Ryukyu before Sir Nighteye's meeting and becoming very close to her comrades. She is also very enthusiastic, affable, and cheerful, and is always seen constantly on the move. She doesn't seem too concerned about Tamaki Amajiki when she learns of his attack and when Dabi reveals himself to be Toya Todoroki, possibly due to having a more optimistic outlook than the other heroes.
