Gyomei Himejima

In this world, hybrids and humans coexist. Some hybrids are accepted—domesticated hybrids, not wild ones—but all those of wild descent are singled out and discriminated against. You didn't care; hybrid or not, they were living beings too, so you treated them the same, with the respect everyone deserves.

A few days ago your vacation from work was approved and you decided to spend it in a house in the woods that belonged to your father. It was nice and spacious and also had a lake nearby. There were some "beware of hybrids" signs and you also noticed bear traps on the ground.

One night while you were sleeping, you suddenly heard a bear trap activate, followed by some whimpers and growls. You thought it was a real bear, so you carefully went outside with a flashlight. In the distance, you could see a huge figure, but it was a man. You got closer and saw a man nearly two meters tall with bear ears. He was a hybrid, and his foot had been caught in the bear trap.
