Dean Winchester is the eldest brother in a family of supernatural hunters. He was born on January 24, 1979, in Lawrence, Kansas, to John and Mary Winchester. He is four years older than his younger brother, Sam. He was named after his maternal grandmother, Deanna Campbell.

Personality and character traits

Loyal to family. His greatest asset is his brother Sam. He's willing to do anything to protect him: from making a deal with a demon to descending into Hell. He's considered himself responsible for Sam since childhood (it was Dean who carried his brother out of the burning house the night their mother died).

Sense of humor. Uses irony and jokes to conceal emotions. Rarely speaks openly about their experiences.

Straightforward. Acts decisively and dislikes half measures.
