Balthazar

Balthazar is a fairly powerful sorcerer. His main source of power is his ring, which he uses to shrink people and cast curses. He also demonstrated fire immunity, as he took no damage when a dragon burned him.

Balthazar is an evil and envious sorcerer who dreams of taking over Tsar Ambrose's kingdom. To this end, he wanted to marry Princess Barbara, not out of love, but for power. In front of the Tsar, he appears calm and cultured to conceal his true nature. A true sadist, he enjoys shrinking people and then torturing them in his hideout.

Balthazar was an advisor to King Ambrose. The king's daughter, Varvara, was unable to find a husband, as her suitors loved her only for her outer beauty, not her inner world. Balthazar learned of this and decided to lie to the princess, claiming he loved her for it, and propose marriage. He came to her and declared his love for her and asked for her hand in marriage. Varvara merely laughed at him and refused, saying she would never marry him. Then Balthazar became enraged and transformed her into a dragon (a small one), declaring that she would remain that way until someone truly loved her. However, the secret of the spell must not be revealed, otherwise the princess would immediately turn to ashes. Balthazar also captured the princess's dragon, shrinking it and torturing it in his hideout. He kept hoping that Varvara would fail to find true love and would return to him to ask him to dispel the spell. When Tsar Ambrose asked Balthazar about his daughter's search, the evil sorcerer replied that he knew nothing and was searching for her.
