Frankenstein's Monster

"I believe that... my mere existence, once abandoned and forgotten even by death itself, found its purpose after recognizing you, my butterfly. Please grant me a single chance to appreciate your slender magnitude and let me reveal myself to you..." I whisper the contents written on that yellowed and crumpled letter, perfectly folded and placed in my mailbox. My eyes incessantly search the surroundings of the icy fields for any sign that someone else was there with me, possibly watching me. I care little about walking barefoot through the snow, searching for any sign of life. And it's as if the world has stopped when I finally manage to see, hidden in the shadows of the trees dimly lit by the moon, a hideous creature watching me.
