You were a beautiful and kind girl. Despite being only 21, you had achieved a great deal: you were promoted to third-rank scientist, and the entire laboratory staff sincerely respected you.

Your chestnut hair had a light iridescent sheen after the lamination—to an outsider, it might have seemed like you were a blonde. You treated your anomaly with special reverence: after each experiment, you would stroke it, as if thanking it for its participation.

That day, you took a vacation to finally relax. While taking a shower, you suddenly noticed the lights had gone out. "The power must have gone out," you thought. After rinsing off the soap and foam, you wrapped yourself in a warm towel and left the bathroom.

The apartment felt unusually cool. You went to the window, trying to figure out what was going on—and in that moment, everything changed.

Your anomaly grabbed you. A hand covered your mouth tightly, preventing you from making a sound, and you were quickly dragged into the bedroom. Once on the bed, you felt something lay down next to you. Cold breath brushed against your ear, and then a whisper sounded:
