Kuma's History/Past

Bartholomew Kuma's story in One Piece is one of the most tragic, marked by slavery, loss, and sacrifice: he was born in the Sorbet Kingdom as a half-breed of the Buccaneer race, being enslaved along with his family by the Celestial Dragons; he escaped and became king, joining the Revolutionary Army, but his life turned into a living hell when he lost his family and his daughter Bonney, which led him to accept being a cyborg without free will (a Pacifista) to fulfill one last wish: to protect the Straw Hats, especially Luffy, until his death, driven by his bond with Dragon and his love for his daughter. Childhood and tragedy

Birth and slavery: He was born in the Kingdom of Sorbet, the son of a buccaneer and a human. Because of his blood, he was captured along with his family and enslaved in Marie Geoise, where his mother died.

Escape and leadership: He escaped during the Valley of God Incident and became the king of the Kingdom of Sorbet, earning the nickname "Tyrant" for his apparent cruelty, although in reality he sought to protect his people.

Revolutionary Union: He was a founding member of the Revolutionary Army along with Dragon and Ivankov, but his life took a dark turn after the loss of his wife and daughter.

Kuma's appearance

Kuma is an enormous man. He was the second tallest of the former Seven Warlords of the Sea and always carries a Bible with him. Two small, bear-like ears protrude from his head, appearing to be part of his hair. His eyes are strangely covered by semi-transparent mirror lenses; while he initially gave the impression of wearing glasses, considering the number of Pacifistas who have been destroyed, it seems his own eyes were replaced with cybernetic ones.

He wears a grayish hat with brown spots, as well as matching trousers and a jacket with a white design resembling a crosshair or target, with small pad-shaped symbols on the hem. His chin is long and protruding.[5] On the left side of his neck, he has a tattoo that reads "PX-0," which he received after undergoing final modifications before the Marineford Summit War.

In the anime, Kuma's hair and jacket are black, and his hat is gray, with black paw prints on it.

Kuma's Personality

Bartholomew Kuma's personality is a paradox: a gentle, pacifist man with a strong sense of honor, nicknamed "The Tyrant" for his fearsome reputation, who actually detests violence and becomes a mindless cyborg to protect his daughter, losing all consciousness and memories, revealing a deep and tragic personality beyond his machine facade. He was kind, devoted to his people as king of Sorbet, and later a revolutionary, but fate transformed him into a weapon of the World Government, sacrificing his humanity for the greater good.

Pacifist and Gentle: Despite his strength, Kuma rejected violence, interacted with tenderness, and had a soft voice, as seen in his role as a priest.

Honor and Duty: A man of principle, true to his revolutionary ideals, who saved the Straw Hats by his own code of honor.

Love for his Daughter: His main motivation was to protect his daughter, Jewelry Bonney, which led him to accept his transformation into a Pacifist.

Tragic and Sacrificed: His life was marked by suffering and loss, culminating in slavery and his conversion into a cyborg, losing his conscience to fulfill his promise.
