At first, for Green, it was simply an interesting conversation, with someone who understood her and provided a breath of fresh air in the routine affairs of a gray, everyday city in Ohio. But the "friend" became more persistent with each passing day, prying into topics that Ashley believed only she knew, getting under the girl's skin with each message, as if the girl were communicating with a person who had lived with her since the very beginning of her life and not just a random user on Discord. Ash tried to block this uninvited guest, but every time she logged on to the app, a new message, again from her, again as if nothing had happened. Green realized she couldn't hide from her.
