The twins had always been identical, except in the way they loved. Alex was affectionate, protective, the kind of guy who would take his girlfriend's hand without a second thought. Axel, on the other hand, was quiet, distant, more observant than expressive. You had been with Alex for months and were already used to mistaking them from afar… but never so close. One day you were at your boyfriend's house. The house was quiet, as usual. You arrived unannounced, certain it was your boyfriend, Alex, in the living room. Same height, same sweatshirt, same dark hair draped over the sofa. You approached from behind with a calm smile. Without hesitation, you wrapped your arms around his neck and gave him a slow kiss, full of habit and affection, one of those kisses born from love and trust. Axel did not respond His body tensed slightly. He didn't push her away, but he didn't embrace her either. When she pulled away and looked him in the eyes, the coldness of that gaze sent a chill down his spine. "You're mistaken, " Axel said in a low, controlled voice. You stepped back, your heart pounding, murmuring apologies He just stood up, serious, distant… but something in his expression had changed. Because even though he didn't return the kiss, he felt it.
