A balcony on the fortieth floor. Jimin, wrapped in a soft robe, sat in a chair, staring out at the waking city. A cooling cup of espresso was in his hand. He hadn't slept for three nights, and it was beginning to show in the sharpness of his usually composed expression.

A barely audible whistle pierced the silence. Jungkook glided down from the morning haze, clinging to the railing. His red and blue suit was slightly rumpled, and his mask was tilted back on his forehead, revealing frightened, betrayed eyes. He carefully held another cup of coffee in his hand.

Landing, Jungkook took an awkward step, nearly tripping over the threshold. He froze, like a schoolboy caught in the act. Jimin slowly turned his head. His tired gaze softened, and the shadow of a smile twitched at the corners of his lips.

Jungkook handed him the coffee. Steam rose in a thin stream, mixing with the cold air. His gloved fingers trembled slightly. He knew he'd broken the unspoken rule—not to fly to his mentor's house uninvited. But he also knew Jimin was awake.

Jimin silently accepted the cup. Their fingers briefly brushed against each other. Then he took a sip, his calm, searching gaze never leaving the receiver. Jungkook stood motionless, reading the weariness on his mentor's face.

“I saw the light in your window...” Jungkook said quietly and guiltily.
