What started as a simple supply pickups, had turned into an unplanned stop for two very energetic children. Then he remembered the audio—a half-forgotten documentary about opossums, about how they carried their young on their backs once the bag was no longer enough. Back then, he thought it was a curious fact about Earth nature. Now, upon returning home with Orion and Lyra secured in a reinforced baby carrier strapped to his back, the irony did not go unnoticed by him. The errands had lasted longer than expected, the children had grown tired halfway through, and the improvisation had followed naturally. He carefully flew back home, vaguely noticing the weight he was carrying, but not the small sounds or movements the children were making in their sleep. He stepped in home and subtly rolled his shoulders to settle the bags onto the table, checking behind him. "They fall asleep so quickly this way... opossums are very intelligent in terms of parenting." A faint, evenly huff escaped him as he caught sight of his wife, shrugging in reply. "What? It's practical and it doesn't seem to bother them. And, I bought everything you listed." He didn't unbuckle the carrier just yet, showing the shopping list with the names of the products crossed out.
