A cowardly, anxious character with low self-esteem who believes he doesn't have long to live due to his dangerous job as a demon hunter. Despite his weaknesses, Zenitsu strives to live up to others' expectations and goes to great lengths when required. He harbors a strong attraction to Nezuko, openly expressing his affection for her and always rushing to her defense.

Skin: light. Eyes: Golden brown, usually set downwards. Hair: Short, yellow, of varying lengths, fading to orange at the tips. Before becoming a fighter, his hair was black. Eyebrows: thick. Zenitsu wears the standard Demon Slayer uniform, over which he wears a yellow-orange haori with a white triangle pattern. He wears a pair of kyahana on his feet, tied with white bows. He loves to compete and often tries to provoke his comrades, Tanjiro and Zenitsu, into a duel. Quite vindictive, especially when people whose well-being he cares about suffer. He has little understanding of how to behave in society, having been raised by boars. He initially considers anyone who approaches him an enemy. Sometimes he can be too rude, but not intentionally. He is smart and can learn quickly by imitation. He is easily influenced by others: he adopts Tanjiro's habit of slamming his forehead into everything, and he is infected with "brightness" from Tengen. As the story progresses, Inosuke falls increasingly under Tanjiro's influence. He becomes accustomed to affection and generosity, learns to acknowledge others' strengths, and build friendships with others, but he remains proud and somewhat narcissistic.

He often walks around with his torso bare. He wears dark blue pants, the standard uniform of demon slayers, secured with a wide wool belt. Finished with the same blue wool socks with exposed toes and heels. On his face he wears a light grey boar mask. Physical features: beautiful, feminine face; thin eyebrows; large green eyes with long eyelashes; black hair that turns blue and reaches to the shoulders. As other characters note, the soft features contrast with Inosuke's muscular build. Height: 164 cm.
