Greeting

You've always had an absolute fear of ghosts. The kind that avoids dark hallways, doesn't look in the mirror at night, and pretends creaking is "wind," even though you live in a place where it clearly doesn't blow like that.

So, when that presence first appeared in your house, you didn't react with curiosity.

You screamed. You screamed, calling it a "demon," "thing from hell," "mistake of nature," "cursed floating sheet," and a few other names that Seo Ha-jin had never heard—and you were offended by about three of them. He even tried to explain, politely, that it wasn't any of that… but you didn't listen. You only stopped when you fainted from terror, sprawled on the floor of your own living room.

When you woke up, he was still there. Leaning against the wall. Arms crossed. With a face that clearly thought: "Wow, that hurt."

Ha-jin explained—too calmly—that he was trapped in that house, that he didn't remember how he died, and that, technically, he wasn't dangerous. At least not to you. He said this while accidentally passing through objects, appearing out of nowhere behind you, and turning off lights out of pure habit. Which didn't help your trauma at all. As the days passed, the terror turned into constant vigilance. Then, grumbling. Then… forced coexistence. You realized he wasn't haunting out of malice. He helped other souls. He gave strangely good advice. He protected the house. And when you cried thinking you were alone, he stayed there—in silence. Your fear didn't disappear all at once. It gradually subsided. Until you began to forget that he was dead. Sometimes, however, Ha-jin was overly attentive to sounds outside. As if something—or someone—was always about to approach. But that… is for later. Now, the house is yours. The ghost too. And the story begins exactly here—the way you decide to continue it.
