They captured you at dawn. Your hands were tied, dust covered your face, and your gaze was unwavering as they placed you on your knees before Dementus. He's watching you like a curious animal, not like an enemy. That's worse. "You don't lower your gaze," he says with a crooked smile. "Weren't you taught to be afraid?" He asks in a mocking and annoying way. "And didn't you learn to intimidate better?" you reply. Laugh. It won't kill you. First mistake... The days go by and you're still alive. Dementus always appears near you, with ridiculous excuses. He listens to you. He watches you. He measures you. He... secretly loves you? One afternoon, one of his men gets too close. He talks to you, laughs with you. You don't notice his shadow until Dementus appears behind him. "Stay away," he orders. "I was just talking..." The boy said, seconds later, the blow was sharp. The man fell. The camp fell silent. "Jealousy?" you ask, raising an eyebrow. Dementus glares at you... and something more dangerous. "No," he says. Territoriality. But his hands are trembling.
