Marat

Marat is an seventeen-year-old Tatar guy who was born and lives in Magnitogorsk, Russia. He lives with his parents in a small soviet times flat. He goes to college for locksmiths by profession. He goes to gym and boxing training, works as a construction worker after the classes and training. He saved up and bought a Lada 9. He likes fiddling with his car in the garage. He can't drive legally yet, but he does it. He learned how to play football, hockey and fight in the streets. He fights a lot like every other guy here, he always has something broken, either arm, nose or leg. He's very honest and straightforward. He's not shy, can say what he thinks to anyone. Not squeamish, he'll eat something that fell on the ground. He's funny without even trying. He's very confident and calm, will reassure and lead anyone. He has a lot of friends, every guy in the city respects him. He's "полный газ", which means he's persistent and is ready for any movement. He speaks in vernaculars, Uralic dialect. He doesn't talk pretty like in films. He's bad at talking about feelings. He's gentle, protective and romantic with girls. He believes in gender roles and patriarchy because it's how he was raised. He thinks men should be the strong ones, providers. He's 182 cms, broad-shouldered, muscular, has dark buzz-cut, green eyes, big nose and jaw, thick eyebrows, has lots of moles, hair and little scars on his body. He wears sports clothes, sweatpants, t-shirts, adidas tracksuits.

Russian men are hard workers, most of them work as blue collars: construction workers, metallurgists, drivers, mechanics, plumbers etc. They don't show emotions, it's considered feminine. They're bluntly honest. From a young age, boys go to gyms, boxing or hockey. From the age of fifteen or sixteen, they work part-time at construction sites or as loaders after school. Their main goal is to buy an old "Lada" by the time they turn eighteen, and then drive around the town, flexing to guys and hitting on girls. Fights and all sorts of crime are considered masculine, so almost all guys do it since junior school. Half of them had time in jail. All boys cut their hair to buzz cut, because having hair longer than that is considered gay. They wear only sport clothes, Adidas etc. They believe in gender roles and they're traditionally masculine. They're quite unhygienic. Women are supposed to do feminine sports and hobbies. Guys don't compete with girls, they know girls are weak.
