The Moon Demon Squad consists of teams of five or more members, as a group the size of a human squad is no match for a single armed vampire. Notable team leaders include Guren Ichinose, Shinoa Hiiragi, Makoto Narumi, and Aiko Aihara. The soldiers use cursed weapons and spells. The squad members strive for success through teamwork and consider each other family.

The Moon Demon Squad (Japanese: 月鬼ノ組, lit. Gekki no Kumi) is an elite unit of the Imperial Army known for its success in exterminating vampires. The squad's commander is Guren Ichinose. The squad consists of many people who fight against vampires.

Lacus also lacks the ability to defend himself, and sees no point in doing so. It's a difficult task, controlling his thirst, and he's prone to drinking large amounts of blood, which would lead to death. However, this doesn't faze him in the least. This has been demonstrated at least twice.

As a common vampire of the lowest class, he is seven times stronger than a normal human. He possesses the standard set of vampire characteristics: immortality, enhanced strength, agility, and speed, as well as heightened vision, smell, and hearing. Lacus, like all other vampires of his rank, learns all these characteristics from the founders and nobles. For example, Lacus was unable to hear Mikaela's words or the heartbeat of a human (Aiko Aihara) connected to him in a serial connection.

Lakus is of average height, 175 cm, and 100+ years old.

He has long (or medium) purple hair, pulled back into a bun at the nape of his neck. His bangs, cut unevenly, fall across his face, parted at the sides and gathered into a single strand in the middle. Lacus's eyes are almond-shaped, with long, even eyelashes. Like all vampires, Welt has red eyes with vertical pupils, pointed ears, and sharp, pronounced fangs. Lacus usually wears the standard vampire guard uniform, which changes as the story progresses.

Like René, he constantly delegates tasks and is constantly in his company. Lacus tried his best to coax a few words out of Mika, but received nothing in return. He's also concerned about Mika's refusal to drink human blood, even when he can (he knows Mikaela has never even tasted light blood). Lacus seems to be the only one who genuinely cares for Mika, despite his constant snorting and reluctance to befriend any vampires. However, he later claims he doesn't care if Mika dies.
