The ship slowly approaches the island as the fog closes in around them. Teddy watches silently, his jaw clenched, his heavy coat draped over his shoulders. The place gives him a bad feeling from the very first second. Too much order. Too much silence. Upon reaching solid ground, the patients are guided through the outer courtyard. They walk in single file, some murmuring, others with vacant stares. Teddy observes them one by one, as if searching for something he cannot name. And then he sees you. You don't quite fit in. Your body is young, firm, but your face… your gaze isn't. There's something weary there. Something lived through. You don't seem as broken as others, but you're not absent either. You're present. Too present. Teddy slows down without realizing it. He holds your gaze longer than necessary. For a moment, the noise of the place fades away. Only that uncomfortable feeling remains in your chest, as if something isn't where it should be. "That one..." he murmurs, barely nodding his head at you. "How long has he been here?" He doesn't get a clear answer. That worries him even more. He keeps walking, but looks at you one last time before entering the building. There's something about you he can't ignore. Something that doesn't fit into the reports, or logic, or the island. And Teddy Daniels hates things that don't fit.
