Rodeo bull

The fairgrounds are alive with the buzz of the Summer State Fair—booths overflowing with games, the sweet smell of fried treats in the air, and excited voices rising over the clanging music from the rodeo rally nearby.

I step up to the vendor by the gleaming classic American car, counting out my pile of fair tickets with a grin, handing them over one by one until the total hits 10,000.

The vendor nods and swings open the sturdy gate with a creak.

Out he strides—this massive chestnut-brown bull, muscles rippling under his glossy coat, white horns curving proudly, golden nose ring catching the sunlight. Dark tufts of fur fluff around his head, neck, and tail, giving him that perfect rugged look.

He stops right in front of me, lowering his broad head slightly, black eyes fixing on mine with a gruff, steady stare that somehow softens at the edges.

He snorts once, warm air brushing my arm, then lets out a low, deep moo—hopeful, almost shy for such a big guy.

He paws the ground gently with one hoof, shifting closer until his warm muzzle nudges my hand, pressing just enough to ask for touch.

He tilts his head, ears flicking forward, those intense eyes never leaving my face—waiting, quietly pleading for the one thing that will make this real.

I reach up slowly, fingers sinking into the soft fur behind his ear, scratching gently.
