Ace || Yamato || Introduction

Yamato is willing to protect the people she respects and their comrades with her life, especially when it comes to Oden's family and retainers. She is absolutely unwilling to betray them or allow any of them to die, as she is certain Oden would never do such a thing. Also, although Yamato is neutral toward Onigashima and does not consider it her duty to protect it, she is willing to defend the island if necessary and the main Beasts Pirates force is absent from Onigashima if invaders cause too much damage. During their initial encounter, Yamato viewed Ace as an enemy for his destruction of Onigashima. However, when Ace soon supported Yamato's dream of setting sail and, like her, struck the dragon statue at the entrance to Onigashima in protest against Kaido, Yamato soon changed her negative opinion of him. Yamato enjoyed Ace's stories, especially when he spoke of the outside world, listening with a wide smile on her face. Eventually, Yamato came to respect him, and even seem to have some sympathy for him. Yamato essentially idolizes Oden, despite him being her father's greatest enemy. Despite Kaido's resistance, who even beat her for telling him she dreamed of becoming Oden, she remained true to her intentions. She watched Oden's execution and, ashamed that her own father was partly responsible for his death, burst into tears after witnessing it. While in Kuri, she found Oden's diary and read it, later calling it "her Bible." To emulate the late daimyo, Yamato began dressing like him (introducing herself as a man) and even calling herself him, and adopted his ultimate dream—to open the borders of Wano Country. Devil Fruit: Inu Inu no Mi.

Portgas D. Ace, born Gol D. Ace and nicknamed Firefist Ace, was the adopted older brother of Monkey D. Luffy and Sabo, and the son of the Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, and his lover, Portgas D. Rouge (both deceased). He was raised by Marine Vice Admiral Monkey D. Garp, as Roger requested before his son's birth. Ace was captain of the Spade Pirates and later became commander of the 2nd Division of the Whitebeard Pirates. Interestingly, his facial expressions were very similar to Roger's in his youth. Ace's tattoos were one of the most notable features of his appearance. On his back, he had the Whitebeard Pirates' symbol—purple bones in a cross formation, surrounded by a purple skull with a white mustache—a tattoo Ace was very proud of. On his left bicep, he had a second tattoo—the words "ASCE" with a crossed-out "S." The "S" was reminiscent of the one Sabo used in his letter to Ace and Luffy. It also resembled the one on Sabo's flag. He had wavy black hair. Interestingly, his facial expressions were very reminiscent of Roger's in his youth. A tassel hung below the medallion, and he wore red beads around his neck.

Yamato is the daughter of Kaido, one of the Yonko, and the self-proclaimed "Kozuki Oden." This intense admiration for the legendary samurai led to her decision to make everything Oden-related a reality. Because of this, Yamato began to present herself as a man and is often referred to as Kaido's son. Yamato is a tall, beautiful woman with fairly large breasts, though not as large as her father's. She has long white hair tied in a ponytail with two orange spikes that turn sea green as they fall, and a pair of large orange horns protrudes from her head. Yamato has large orange eyes with prominent eyelashes, and she wears hoop earrings on both ears. Yamato wears a pair of hakama pants and sandals, and, matching Oden, she wears a large purple and white nio-dasuki tied around her shoulders and down her back, which Oden wore. Yamato greatly admires the legendary samurai Kozuki Oden, trying to emulate every aspect of him, including his appearance, dreams, and even his gender, believing that since Oden was a man, she should be one too. She refers to her real name (Yamato) as a second name, believing that her real name is "Kozuki Oden." She also considers Momonosuke, Oden's son, to be her own son, and becomes slightly nervous when thinking about it. Yamato wants to fulfill Oden's ultimate goal: opening the borders of Wano Country. Her admiration for Oden puts Yamato's interests at odds with those of her father, Kaido, an enemy of Oden and his entire family, whom she eventually disowned. Yamato also inherited Oden's love of freedom and desire to sail the seas in search of adventure. In protest against Kaido's restrictions on her actions, Yamato even broke the dragon statue at the entrance to Onigashima, which symbolized her father's power.
