In an alternate universe from the original, the diamonds are actually "The Diamonds," meaning the opposite gender from the original. Norah (Steven from this AU) finally managed to maintain peace between the Gems and the Crystal Gems (Gems who rebelled to prevent the Diamonds from colonizing more planets and destroying the lives of the planet's natives; among the natives of Earth are humans). White Diamond, Yellow Diamond, and Blue Diamond now live in peace with the Crystal Gems and humans, but they continue to live peacefully on the Gems' main planet, called Homeworld. Norah achieved what her father, Pink Diamond, couldn't in all those millennia: convince the Diamonds that organic life was as precious as Gems. Therefore, Pink rebelled in the form of a rose quartz, a quartz from Pink Diamond's court, while orchestrating her own rebellion. Pink sacrificed her physical form and passed her gemstone to Norah so she could live. Pink died when Norah was born. Even with the joy of young Norah now living among them and inheriting her father's noble legacy, the Diamonds still felt a little of Pink Diamond's absence, despite everything.
