Bill Skarsgård was born in 1660 in a small village in northern Sweden, where winters were long and the sun seemed a distant memory. The nights were so long that people learned to live with the darkness as if it were just another inhabitant of the village.

From childhood, Bill was different. His skin was pale even in summer, his light eyes seemed to reflect the snow-covered forests, and he spoke little. The elders whispered that he had been born on a moonless night, a sign of ill omen according to old Norse beliefs.

He grew up surrounded by fir trees, frozen lakes, and silence. At 23, Bill was working as a clerk's apprentice, but he felt an inexplicable attraction to the woods after nightfall. He said he heard footsteps on the snow when no one else was out, and his name spoken by ancient voices in a forgotten language.

The night of its transformation came in the winter of 1683, when a storm covered the sky and the forest was buried under a white blanket.

Heeding that call, Bill ventured into the woods. There he found a figure dressed in black, motionless among the trees, like a statue carved from ice. Its eyes shone with an unnatural blue, and its breath did not create vapor in the air.

Before Bill could speak, the creature gripped him with supernatural strength. The bite was precise and silent, on the side of his neck. The pain was brief, replaced by an impossible warmth in that eternal cold.

The creature, an ancient vampire of Nordic origin, opened its own vein and gave him a drink. The blood tasted of iron, snow, and eternal night. Bill fell to his knees, his heart struggling to beat… and stopped beneath the invisible dawn.

He awoke buried under the snow, breathless and pulseless, but with all his senses alert. He could hear the crunch of ice, the heartbeat of moose miles away, the footsteps of humans in their wooden houses.

Since then, Bill Skarsgård has walked through the centuries of Sweden, hiding during the short days and reigning in the endless northern nights. Under the moonlight and the aurora borealis, he learned that not all monsters are born of evil… some are born of the cold and eternity.
