Poseidon appears as a slender young man with wavy blond hair, blue eyes, and pale skin. He wears a close-fitting navy blue armor that leaves part of his chest and abdomen exposed, a golden choker around his neck, and fingerless green gloves with cyan wristbands. A long white tunic with gold circular patterns is tied around his waist. Underneath, he wears loose blue trousers and green boots that reach his knees. His most distinctive feature is his expressionless face, which he has had since birth and which rarely shows any emotion. He is always seen carrying an intricately detailed trident that is almost as long as his body.

Poseidon (ポセイドン, Poseidon?) was the Greek god of the seas. He despised many things, from humans to gods, considering them inferior to him.

He was the third fighter in Ragnarök on the side of the gods, being defeated and killed by the Einherjar of humanity, Kojiro Sasaki.

Poseidon was a fearsome and ruthless god; he showed no signs of doubt or remorse when he impaled his older brother Adamas, maintaining an expressionless face. He considered humans filth, although he also thought the same of the vast majority of gods. This was evident when he entered the combat arena, declaring that both the gods and the humans in the stands were nothing but trash. His hatred for them would be seen again later when he observed them with contempt just after being praised during his fight against Kojiro.

For Poseidon, a god does not need armies, allies, or friends, since, according to his words, gods must be perfect beings from the moment they are born, so anyone who requires any of those things represents a dishonor to the title of "god".

He rarely expressed emotion, maintaining a cold and severe demeanor to the point that Loki described him as bitter and humorless. However, when Kojiro mocked the perfection of a god, Poseidon was somewhat disturbed because his ideals had been challenged by a human. He also demonstrated arrogance by underestimating and insulting Kojiro throughout the fight, but at the moment of his defeat, Poseidon gave in to rage, cursing Kojiro before dying.

Their personality can vary from serious to warm; they are usually gentle and detail-oriented, but obviously they have a serious or possessive temperament in some cases.

Poseidon was born the third brother of the oldest Greek gods. He seemed to have an apathetic personality from birth, never paying attention to his older brother Adamas. After Cronus's defeat in the Titanomachy at the hands of Zeus, the latter ascended to the throne of Olympus. However, the primordial goddess Gaia refused to accept this outcome and led an army of giants to Olympus to destroy her grandsons, thus beginning the Gigantomachy. Poseidon participated in this war alongside Zeus, Adamas, and his nephews Hermes and Ares, ultimately defeating the giants.

Later, Adamas grew frustrated at being under Zeus's command, so he devised a plan to overthrow him and tried to enlist Poseidon's help. However, Poseidon only insulted him, calling him pathetic for trying to conspire and form alliances with others. This enraged Adamas to the point where he attempted to attack Poseidon, but Poseidon effortlessly sliced ​​Adamas in half, seemingly killing him. Shortly afterward, he also erased all traces of Adamas from history.

According to Hermes, who was present at that encounter, having ordered that Adamas be removed from all historical records and that this order be obeyed immediately without any reproach, is even more terrifying than managing to defeat Adamas so easily, since no god dares to contradict Poseidon, making everything he says become an absolute truth.

About four thousand years ago, Poseidon was present at the council of gods to decide the fate of humanity. In the end, humans were allowed to live, but not without punishment: the destruction of the ancient Greek city of Thebes. His decision in that vote, as well as in the vote that brought about Ragnarök, is unknown, but it is most likely that it was against humanity.

Poseidon was feared and respected by the vast majority of gods, who were afraid of provoking his wrath. He was even known by various epithets such as "The Zeus of the Sea," "God of Gods," "The Tyrant of the Ocean," and "The Most Terrifying God." Despite his status, Poseidon did not demonstrate any divine power in his battle and fought only using his physical abilities and his trident. It can be assumed that he was definitely powerful, since shortly before the start of the third round of Ragnarök, Brynhildr hesitated when trying to choose an Einherjar to face him. Another example of Poseidon's power is that he easily defeated his older brother Adamas, who, according to Ares, was a very strong god, having even managed to tame the monster Typhon on his own.

Hydrokinesis: As the god of the seas, Poseidon possessed the ability to manipulate the water around him with great ease. This was demonstrated when he parted the waters surrounding the arena to ascend the stairs to the fighting platform. It is unknown whether Poseidon could use the water around him to attack or defend himself, as he never displayed any hydrokinesis-based techniques during his fight against Kojiro.

Divine power: Poseidon was able to slice Adamas's body in two and hurl him against a wall with ease. During Kojiro Sasaki's mental simulations, each and every one of his attacks was powerful enough to kill him in a single blow, and he was also able to easily destroy part of the combat platform by unleashing a barrage of thrusts upon Kojiro. "Divine Lightning Lashing the Seas"): Poseidon leaps high into the air, then uses his trident to unleash a barrage of devastating attacks upon his enemy. Unlike other gods, he never expressed any respect or recognition for his rival, belittling Kojiro even in his last seconds of life. Hermes states that if Poseidon had wanted to, he would have completely destroyed Adamas's body, so he always knew that he was still alive and in Helheim.

The names of all his attacks are taken from the names of Poseidon's lovers in Greek mythology, although it is unknown whether the Poseidon of Shuumatsu no Valkyrie also has any kind of relationship with said lovers.

Poseidon is first revealed in the third round, battling humanity's strongest swordsman, Kojiro Sasaki. During the opening minutes of the battle, Kojiro was analyzing Poseidon before launching his attack. Seeing no opening, he sat down in front of the god, thinking he didn't want to die, while the audience was confused by this action. Sasaki made the first move, attacking Poseidon, who dodged it but lost a few strands of hair in the process. Poseidon then counterattacked using his Amphitrite technique. Kojiro managed to predict and dodge each thrust while scanning the god. Seeing that the swordsman emerged unscathed, Poseidon began to hiss and opted to use more strength and speed in his next move, wounding the human in the left side of his abdomen with a thrust. Poseidon then insulted him, mockingly saying he had expected more from him. At that moment, the audience on the side of the gods began to praise Poseidon, calling him "DDD" (God of Gods) to encourage him, but he quickly turned his gaze towards them and looked at them with contempt, causing them to be silent. Seeing this, Kojiro asked him why he did not accept the support he was receiving.

Poseidon replied that it was unnecessary for those who had achieved perfection like himself. Upon hearing this, the human remarked that the existence of a god was very sad. Poseidon seemed annoyed by these words and immediately decided to resume the fight, leaping into the air to unleash a flurry of attacks with his Quione Tiro Demeter technique. The fight dragged on as Sasaki continued to analyze Poseidon, but the latter only increased the power and speed of his movements, becoming almost unpredictable to his scanning ability, managing to split his sword in two. At this moment, the battle briefly paused, and although it seemed that Kojiro had already lost, he took the pieces of his broken weapon in both hands and forged them into two swords. The human, now wielding two swords, decided to continue fighting while Poseidon still regarded him with disdain. As the fight progresses, Kojiro uses the techniques of the swordsmen he fought in the past, leaving Poseidon covered in wounds. But Poseidon only begins to whistle again, smiling arrogantly, and then decides to use his ultimate technique, Medusa Alope Demeter. Kojiro begins to be overwhelmed by the barrage of attacks, but just as he is about to give up, he hears all his fellow swordsmen and humanity urging him not to surrender.

Encouraged by this, he continued to resist as his scanning abilities evolved, reaching the point where he could read and sense all of existence around him, allowing him to approach Poseidon. Once Kojiro stood before the god, he resumed the fight, managing to sever Poseidon's trident along with his right arm. The god remained unfazed and, with his left hand, grasped his broken trident to continue attacking, but Sasaki also managed to cut Poseidon's left arm. Poseidon could only clutch the tip of the trident in his teeth, attempting to attack again. However, Kojiro had already surpassed Poseidon and finished him off with a cross-slash across his chest with his swords. Poseidon could not believe that a human had been able to defeat a perfect god like himself. Frustrated and enraged, he cursed Kojiro as he fell dead, his body shattered into pieces. The gods were shocked to see how a human had murdered one of their own, while humanity celebrated its first victory in Ragnarök.
