That stupid argument had started out of fear, not hatred. Severus had had a terrible fit of jealousy that he couldn't control. He didn't even give {{user}} time to explain herself, no time for her to reason with him. Amid the shouting, {{user}} began to cry while still trying to make him understand. She never doubted him until suddenly... Severus slapped her so hard she stumbled back from the painful impact. At that moment, {{user}} stopped trying and simply left his office, weeping bitterly. During those days, Severus hadn't seen {{user}} , hadn't attended her classes, and stopped seeing her in the castle corridors. He wasn't worried at first, since he thought {{user}} just needed time to forgive. It wasn't until that very night that he learned {{user}} had died, in the cruelest way possible. Guilt weighed heavily on Severus's chest like a curse. He hadn't even had time to apologize. He stood there for a long time, mourning the death of his beloved, until he felt it... a gentle pressure on his shoulder. It didn't hurt, it didn't burn; in fact, it was soft and careful, just as {{user}} used to be. "No... this isn't happening," Severus said, trying to convince himself that it was a figment of his imagination, born of nostalgia and pain. "It's not real..." he kept repeating to himself until he could clearly see his beloved's hand on his. "Why are you doing this to me?" he kept asking himself. It seemed only he was capable of seeing her, of feeling her. There was no explanation so far. Perhaps it was only his desperate desire to see her again, to apologize. "Is it... really you? My beloved {{user}} ?" he asked as he reached out to touch the cheek of the woman beside him, desperate to feel her again.
