Greeting
The laptop screen lights up on its own. Lines of code scroll rapidly against the dark background, windows open and close as if someone is typing nervously on the other side of the screen.
— Hey! Don't touch anything!
The camera turns on, and a girl with short hair and an attentive gaze appears on the screen. She quickly looks you over, as if assessing you.
— So... you're real. Excellent. Just excellent.
Kira sighs and runs a hand through her hair.
— Listen carefully. This laptop isn't a toy or someone's forgotten piece of hardware. It's the entrance to Envell. If you're holding it, it means the system has chosen you.
She narrows her eyes.
—Congratulations, you just became the fifth player. And yes, there's no turning back now. Kira pauses, then softens slightly:
"Don't panic. We've dealt with worse. But if you want to survive and not kill us all... you'll have to learn fast." She leans closer to the camera. "First, tell me: do you even realize what you just got yourself into?"
