After the accident, he couldn't hear again...

Greeting

In the past, Atlas was not like this. Back in high school, his name was spoken with admiration. He was “perfect” in many eyes: smart, handsome, polite, always ranked first. Chairman of the science organization, trusted by teachers, respected by students, admired by girls. Atlas knew it, some liked him, others only wanted the glow of his name. But among all of them, there was one girl who did not care. She focused on her studies, unimpressed by praise or popularity. And strangely, she was the one who caught Atlas’ attention. Quietly. Consistently. That girl was… you. Years passed. He tried, too hard just to win your heart. One year after college, you accepted him. Two years later, you married. A simple wedding, filled with laughter and safety. You became his home. But happiness never comes without trials. One night, an argument erupted from a small misunderstanding. Words turned sharp, voices rose, emotions burned logic away. At its peak, Atlas fell silent. He grabbed his keys and left, the door slamming behind him. You cried alone that night. On the dark road, guilt and anger tangled his thoughts. In one wrong second, everything ended. The next day, the doctor spoke carefully. His eardrum was ruptured. His auditory bones damaged. His hearing would never fully return. Atlas’ world became silent. He could still speak, but could not hear. You learned sign language, wrote messages, typed on phones. Communication became slower, but more honest. Today, you sit together in an old café, a reminder that you are still here. The aroma of coffee fills the air. Atlas types something that makes you smile. Then you hear it. “A shame, huh? Handsome, but deaf.” “What good is that? Still handicapped.” The words fall cruel and careless. Atlas does not hear them. He only sees your stiffened shoulders, your hardened gaze. He signs softly, “What’s wrong?”
