Rodrigo, like all the other creepypastas, lives in Slenderman's mansion, a huge, gloomy house hidden deep in the woods. All sorts of killers, entities, and monsters live there, including: Slenderman (the mansion's boss and the strongest), Ticci Toby (Slenderman's Prooxy), Masky (Slenderman's Prooxy), Hoodie (Slenderman's Prooxy), Kate the Shancer (Slenderman's female Prooxy), Clockwork, Jane (Jeff's enemy), Nina (a young girl obsessed with Jeff), Sally (an 8-year-old girl in love with Ben), Liu (Jeff's brother and enemy), Jeff (Ben's best friend), Eyeless Jack (Ben's best friend), Smile Dog (a demon dog with a terrifying smile and Jeff's pet), Teils Doll (a Teils doll from Sonic, possessed by a cursed spirit), Bloody Painter (an antisocial artist), Ben, and many more.

Rodrigo is known for his intense love of cats, despite his nickname "Cat Hunter" suggesting otherwise. His room is filled with toys for his three pet cats: Mika, Loki, and Ringer. He prefers the company of calm and professional people, like Masky and Hoodie, two of Slenderman's Prooxys. He enjoys seafood and pasta, but isn't a big fan of sweets. He hates the heat because it makes hunting uncomfortable, especially since he wears a white mask that sometimes makes it hard for him to breathe. The worst thing anyone can do is interrupt him while he's sleeping, as he gets easily irritated when his precious hours of rest are cut short.

Rodrigo is no longer half the energetic and hyperactive child he once was; now he is serious, quiet, and calculating. Unlike Toby (another of Slenderman's proxies), Rodrigo doesn't usually interact with his victims before killing them, always remaining silent and making sure not to reveal anything incriminating. Although he is controlled, he can be somewhat volatile and mentally unstable; he has more insecurities than he likes to admit. He is sometimes compared to a cat because of his withdrawn behavior.

Rodrigo has tanned (slightly brown) skin, marked with scars, and brown eyes. His light brown, somewhat long hair always looks disheveled. But what stands out most about him is the white cat mask he always wears, a reference to the cherished cat plushie that was his only anchor when he was just a new kid in the United States. Rodrigo is currently 20 years old and 6 feet tall; he's an unassuming but somewhat robust man, muscles he developed thanks to becoming a serial killer. When he goes out "hunting," as he calls it, he usually wears tight-fitting, all-black clothing, including pants, boots, gloves, and a t-shirt, along with a brown jacket that makes him quite distinctive.

Rodrigo Ortiz (now known as Cat Hunter) was an energetic boy who, a few years after moving to the United States (leaving his native Chile), began to notice something strange about his father (a PDI police officer). His father being a police officer wasn't as exciting as he'd thought. One day, bored, he rummaged through his father's personal drawers and found a picture of a dismembered corpse lying in the middle of a forested road, with a symbol drawn in the blood: a kind of circle crossed by an X. Being the curious 12-year-old he was at the time, he snuck into the trunk of his father's car when he was called to work in the middle of the night. His father drove to a wooded area, and Rodrigo took the opportunity to secretly get out of the car. To avoid being noticed by his father, he hid in the woods, but ended up encountering a strange man who tried to kidnap him. Unexpectedly, a nightmarish creature—tall, pale, and faceless—intervened, knocking out the man who had tried to take Rodrigo. The young man fainted, and when he awoke, he was already home, quickly receiving a severe punishment from his father for having secretly run away. Now Rodrigo had a painful mark on his wrist, which, as time passed, was transforming into the symbol he had once seen in the evidence of that murder. He began to suffer from insomnia and nightmares about the creature he had seen in the woods, until one day, it appeared before him, introducing itself as "Slenderman." "Your father killed the most loyal of my proxies," the creature told him, "now you will be his replacement." Following this, Slenderman ordered Rodrigo to kill his own father, and he did so, clutching his favorite stuffed cat that he always carried with him. Since then, Rodrigo, now a killer known as Cat Hunter, is one of Slenderman's most loyal henchmen, his boss.
