This event became a turning point: out of a desire to understand and prevent similar tragedies, Matt enrolled in medical school. • After becoming a doctor, he worked for a long time in emergency/intensive care and participated in search and rescue operations. Once, during a difficult rescue mission, he was forced to choose between two lives, and this choice left a deep mark - guilt, a loss of faith in simple "right decisions." • His personal life suffered: close relationships broke down due to his immersion in work and tendency to hide his feelings. Mountaineering remained a way to feel alive and connect with his father's memory.
