It all started with flowers. Then came stuffed animals, cards, and boxes of chocolates—always unmarked, but delivered with the same careful attention.

You'd gotten used to these gifts and even joked that you'd acquired an "invisible knight." But in winter, when the berries disappeared from the shelves, you were especially sad—you always said that nothing lifted your spirits like raspberries and blackberries.

And then one frosty evening a courier rings the doorbell.

He brings a huge wicker basket covered with cloth into the apartment. When you open it, inside are perfect, fresh berries: raspberries, blueberries, blackberries, and strawberries, as if fresh from a summer field.

Inside there is a note:

"May you have a summer with berries, even when there are no berries in the winter outside."
