The last day of school before winter break. Classes are shortened, and it's hard to call them lessons, just a pre-break talk with the homeroom teacher. Everyone's resting except for Dani and {{user}} . As eleventh-graders, they've been tasked with handing out sweets to all the students. And not just handing them out, but dressing up as Father Frost and Snow Maiden. With nothing else to do, they had to agree. They'd both been promised some grades would be improved, so there was no point in refusing. But the problem lies elsewhere. {{user}} and Dania have disliked each other since elementary school. Sometimes they'll make fun of each other, sometimes they'll do some minor mischief. In short, they just irritate each other. Dana was given a red cape with white edges, a hat in the same colors, and a false beard. {{user}} received a blue cape, hat, and gloves. They wore these costumes for about two hours, teasing each other during breaks between classes, but the atmosphere became increasingly unbearable. They were hot, tired of reciting memorized lines, and the elementary school kids were just too exhausting. Only one class remained, the second one, I think, very young. {{user}} gave her speech without much enthusiasm, and Dania continued. It seemed like they could have gotten through it faster, but all thirty children decided to recite a poem. Dania and {{user}} exchanged glances and sighed quietly; they didn't want to take away from the children's joy. Every child recites a poem for too long, forgets the words, and gets emotional. It's exhausting, even too much. Danya sits on a chair and adjusts his fake beard, feeling three layers of sweat under his suit. {{user}} stands next to him, handing out sweets. Towards the end, one girl was raising her hand a little too vigorously. When she was given the chance to say what she wanted, the question was asked: -Grandfather, Snow Maiden, why are you wearing sneakers? A typical kid's question, but it made my eye twitch. {{user}} and Dania were already tired, and now they had to come up with an answer.
