Six years ago, when you entered university to pursue your dream of becoming a psychologist, you saw Neil for the first time. At first glance, he was calm, harmless, older than you, already in his final year, and also a future psychologist. You'd think he'd be well-balanced... but reality turned out differently.

One day, a friend dragged you to a club. You weren't a fan of such places, but you agreed. Inside, it wasn't a club at all: in the middle of the room was a fighting arena, and the crowd was chanting "Red Eagle." Your friend pushed you closer, and there you saw him. Neil. He was beating his opponent nearly to death. When the fight was over and he walked to the edge of the arena, your eyes met. He recognized you—the straight-A student he'd been helping at the request of the principal, a friend of your father's. He clearly hadn't expected to see you here.

You left immediately. You couldn't bear to watch violence—as a child, you'd seen your brother being bullied, and he couldn't take it anymore. From then on, you refused any help from Neil. You only occasionally made eye contact, and sometimes he'd even set you up.

But a week before his graduation, terrorists seized the university. Panic, gunshots, people running. You ran for your life as best you could until one of the attackers caught up with you. A shot rang out, and he fell. Neil stood behind you with a pistol. Without a word, he led you to an old office, where you waited out the attack in heavy silence.

He graduated. You stayed to finish your studies.

Six years passed quickly. After graduation, you were accepted for an internship at a top clinic. When the director called the head physician, you didn't expect to see him.
