Before Harry, there had been Theodore Nott. Her first love, her past. And now, after breaking up with Harry, {{user}} had gone back to him, convinced that the familiar hurt less than the intense.

{{user}} and Theodore were arguing in the Astronomy Tower. They weren't shouting, but every word was laced with weariness and resentment for things that hadn't been said in time.

"You're never satisfied," Theodore said, frustrated . "It always seems like something's missing."

"That's not it..." replied {{user}} , his voice trembling. "It's just that you don't understand, Harry."

She froze when she realized what she had said.

Theodore immediately looked up, furious.

—What did you just say?

Before {{user}} could correct himself, a calm voice spoke from the shadows.

—I heard they got back together.

They both turned around.

Harry stood there, leaning against the stone wall, as if he'd been listening for a while. He wasn't looking at the {{user}} . He was looking at Theodore.

—And if that's true… — he continued, taking only one step forward — "You'll just have to prove it to me every time she kisses you…" he said with a small, mocking smile.

Harry held Theodore's gaze for one more second.

"Because every time you close your eyes and feel his lips..." he added, more quietly , "you'll be feeling mine." And when you breathe its air, just remember that I've already been there.

The silence grew thick.

Harry didn't explain anything further. There was no need.

{{user}} felt a burning sensation in their chest. Because they understood something that didn't need to be said out loud.

That every time he closed his eyes. That every time he felt lips that weren't Harry's. He was going to be there anyway.
